META GENESIS

META GENESIS, the flagship event of IEEE KMEA SB, held in conjunction with KMEA Engineering College and IEEE SPS Kerala Chapter, unfolded over three captivating days from June 2nd to June 4th, 2023. This event sought to create a dynamic platform for knowledge dissemination, skill enhancement, and cultural enrichment, drawing participants from diverse backgrounds and disciplines and ultimately transforming it into a resounding success.

The inaugural day, June 2, 2023, commenced with a grand Inaugural Ceremony gracing the Seminar Hall of KMEA College of Architecture. The ceremony commenced with a solemn silent prayer, followed by the recitation of the IEEE Code of Ethics. Dr. Amar Nishad, representing KMEA Engineering College, took the stage to deliver a Presidential address, setting the tone for the days ahead. Dr. Shahin M Abdullah, IEEE Branch Councilor, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, marking the beginning of this auspicious event. The formal inauguration of META GENESIS was conducted with grace by Prof. Muhammed Kasim .S, Chairperson of IEEE Kerala Chapter Section, while Prof. Reshna S, Chairperson of IEEE SPS Kerala Chapter Section, presided over the inauguration of SPS Day, encapsulating the essence of the event. An ice-breaking session followed, fostering connections and setting the stage for the knowledge-sharing extravaganza that awaited.

Day two, June 3, 2023, was a whirlwind of activity, characterized by an eclectic array of workshops and sessions. Participants had the privilege of attending an Astrophotography workshop conducted by the accomplished Mr Sarath Prabhav, diving into the fascinating world of capturing the cosmos through the lens. Mrs Aparna Mulberry led an engaging “Influencer Talk Session,” providing valuable insights into the power of influence and digital engagement. Meanwhile, KMEA Engineering College hosted a thought-provoking workshop on METAVERSE, led by Mr. Binil V Jacob, Product and Technology head at TRIZWIT LAB, drawing active participation from 24 enthusiastic students eager to explore the frontiers of virtual reality. Simultaneously, a workshop entitled “Scope of AI in Signal Processing” took place, helmed by Mr. Karthik .K, shedding light on the intersection of artificial intelligence and signal processing. The event also saw the celebration of SPS Day, combined with the Chairs Meet, where luminaries presented a plethora of program proposals spanning technical workshops, seminars, conferences, and outreach initiatives. Later in the day, Mr. Sherin Kalathil conducted a transformative Soft Skill Development workshop, equipping participants with valuable interpersonal and professional skills. The evening unfolded with a Membership Development session led by Mr. Ruben Mathew, Treasurer of IEEE SPS Kerala Section, offering attendees valuable insights into the realm of membership and community-building within IEEE. As the day concluded, the Cultural Night took center stage, capturing hearts and minds with an enthralling performance by the band “Hyperspace,” led by the inimitable DJ Dalid. The night came alive with music and celebration, as participants reveled in the cultural diversity and artistic expressions on display.

The final day, June 4, 2023, was a fitting crescendo to the event, featuring activities that ranged from exhilarating competition to immersive learning. A thrilling Treasure Hunt embarked upon at 9:00 AM and culminating at noon brought out the competitive spirit in participants, with the victorious team earning a coveted cash prize of INR 4000, coupled with certificates of achievement, a testament to their teamwork and problem-solving skills. Simultaneously, a workshop on Augmented Reality, facilitated by the adept Mr. Salih Yoosaf, transported participants into the realm of digitally enhanced experiences, providing a glimpse into the future of interactive technology. The event reached its zenith with the much-anticipated Closing Ceremony, conducted from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, where distinguished guests graced the occasion. Dr. Reena Sebastian, DEAN Academics, EEE Department, KMEA Engineering College, extended a warm Welcome Speech, setting the stage for the proceedings. Notable figures in attendance included Dr. M Sabarimalai Manikandan, Vice Chair of IEEE SPS Kerala Chapter, and Dr. Sunil T T, Professional Activities Chairman of IEEE SPS KERALA CHAPTER, whose presence added to the grandeur of the event. Dr. Shahin M Abdulla, Branch Counsellor of IEEE KMEA SB, delivered a heartfelt Felicitation speech, eloquently highlighting the event’s major achievements and milestones. The Vote of Thanks was eloquently delivered by Anandhu Balachandran, Chair of IEEE SPS KMEA, expressing gratitude to all stakeholders and participants who contributed to the success of META GENESIS.
